Ed hold’s a BSc (Hons) in Analytical Chemistry and began his career in the Distilled Spirits Industry, where he spent eight years as a Chemist supporting R&D, brand security (anti-counterfeiting initiatives), and research programmes. During this time Ed developed expertise in advanced analytical techniques and applied problem-solving within commercially driven environments.

Ed has significant experience in analytical method development across both GLP and ISO laboratory environments, primarily using LC-MS, GC-MS and ICP-OES platforms to support product development, regulatory submissions, and complex investigative studies. His work has focused on low-level detection techniques in a wide range of complex matrices, often delivering high-quality data to demanding timelines.

Ed has contributed to Technical Liaison Groups representing member interests in agrochemical approvals, demonstrating both technical depth and the ability to engage effectively with regulatory and industry stakeholders.

Ed serves as Director of Laboratory Operations, in this role, he provides strategic and operational leadership across laboratory, facility and project management functions, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects. He leads highly integrated, cross-functional teams to support clients with their most challenging scientific and regulatory programmes.

Ed is an experienced leader and holds a Mini-MBA from the London School of Economics, combining strong scientific expertise with commercial and operational insight.
