Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science

11 Sep 2023

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed by the United Nations (UN) on 11 February each year. The day aims to promote the participation of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Throughout the years there have been many famous scientist such as Rachel Carson, Marie Curie, Darleanne Hoffman, Ida Noddack who have helped make science what it is today but a significant gender gap exists in STEM fields to this day.  We are proud that women make up 60% of our total workforce. We feel it is equally as important to celebrate all the women that work for us.

Download our infographic here  to find out more about some of the wonderful female scientist who work for us.
We also thought that instead of just posting one thing today and only celebrating all the women our industry on one day a year, that we would launch a series of videos and blogs of a day in the life of …. which will focus on what their role involves and what inspired them to get into science. Keep an eye out on our social media channels and our website for the next in this series.
